Technical Analyst Returnship (On-site – Decatur Illinois or Minneapolis, MN)

The Technical Analyst Producer Origination position is based in Decatur, IL or Minneapolis, MN and will report to the Director of Customer Risk. This position will have a core focus on the systems and process that support producer grain origination activities across multiple ADM businesses. The position will require management and assistance on various projects, continuous process improvements, and technical expertise that support ADM’s overall producer origination efforts. Detailed analytics and technical capabilities will be required to stay on target with competitors in the agricultural commercial space. This role of will use a combination of business acumen and communication skills to influence how the organization faces business challenges.

What You’ll Do:
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in all applications for current producer origination systems/platforms, and awareness on all new and upcoming technologies
  • Serve as the Producer Origination Microsoft Power BI technical expert with the ability to take a business case concept and develop it into a practical and useful report design
  • Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable primary and secondary data sources
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems
  • Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis
  • Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions
  • Serve as conduit between business and technical spaces on special projects, including giving input on solutions and design
  • Provide outstanding internal customer service and problem solving for system applications
  • Proactively establish and maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
  • Lead marketing automation efforts from a data management standpoint
  • Give input on continuous improvement processes, and help with execution of the prioritized improvement/standardization initiatives
Who We’re Looking For:


Preferred
  • Degree in Computer Science or relevant field is preferred
  • Passion for continuous improvement and automation
  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures
  • Interact in a consistently professional and positive manner with various internal and external personnel
  • Existing knowledge or willingness to learn and understand the farming/agriculture industry as it pertains to this role
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong oral, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
  • High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
  • Proficient computer skills including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with Agris and Salesforce systems a plus
  • AMPscript, Python, SQL, C sharp, C#, C++, VBA, HTML, CSS, DAX, M, JSON and other computer language knowledge preferred
  • < 5% travel estimated
Minimum
  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience
  • Systematic and logical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to learn and understand new software or other applications necessary to perform essential responsibilities authoritatively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to be accurate and timely in a dynamic work environment
What Our Team Does:
  • Primary Office Location: Decatur, IL or Minneapolis, MN
    • This position will sit in the North American Headquarters located in Decatur, IL – remote work is allowable at times
  • Team Description:
    • This role will work on the Producer Origination desk, which is a team that supports ADM’s producer efforts and initiatives, primarily in the U.S. and Canada. The Producer Origination desk plans, assists, and executes everything from risk management activities, technology initiatives (both internal and external), to marketing efforts.
