Job Description

Business Information and Systems Manager, EHS – Decatur IL
This is an exempt level position.

About the Position:
The EHS Business Information and Systems Manager is responsible for ensuring the best tools, processes, and systems support ADM’s commitment to protecting people and the environment. Through partnership with stakeholders, including EHS and Global Technology colleagues, the role oversees the support of various EHS related applications, development and execution of technical and application roadmaps, leads automation efforts, and seeks improvement opportunities for information systems to enhance EHS performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the strategic and tactical plan for EHS information systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional operational, EHS and technology teams to understand business needs and translate them into IT requirements.
  • Lead a team of two direct reports to support EHS information systems through user support, configuration improvements, system data management, monitoring data, and developing analytics reports.
  • Create and maintain EHS performance reports to deliver the right information at the right time to the global team.
  • Support information sharing of EHS programs using different tools like Power Apps, webparts and other tools to enhance SharePoint sites as they relate to EHS.
  • Improve EHS Risk Management through data analysis to support standards and program development.
  • Ensure effective training for each EHS system and user group is developed, delivered, and maintained.
  • Lead user groups for key systems to enhance user system knowledge while utilizing feedback to determine system improvements.
  • Interface with Global Technology to communicate needs and support for EHS applications.
  • Manage project related software deployments, upgrades, and database maintenance.
  • Support EHS initiatives including, standardization process, audits, training, safety campaigns, incident investigations – root cause analyses and other risk reduction efforts through identification of available tools to enhance initiatives success.
  • Maintain working knowledge and subject matter expertise for each of the EHS applications to support and guide the EHS team for maximum utilization of systems.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Systems, Engineering or EHS related fields
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in areas related to production operations, information technology or EHS Support
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams and driving results.
  • Strong ability to use computer systems, windows environment, and knowledge in analytics software’s (Power BI, Qlik, etc.)
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work within a team based work environment
  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time to multiple facilities with flexible hours
  • This position requires the ability to work in a variety of conditions such as an office and plant environment, indoors/outdoors, hot/cold weather as well as physical demands such as standing, kneeling, and sitting for prolonged periods of time, climbing stairs/ladders and the ability to work in confined spaces in a variety of environmental conditions
