Job Description

Cogeneration Plant Shift Operations Supervisor
This is a salaried exempt position.
This is a rotating shift position.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of a cogeneration facility. This position supervises the hourly employees to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the facility. They must be able to establish expectations for safety, reliability, quality, service, and productivity. Reports to the Plant Operations Superintendent but also works with the maintenance group in coordinating equipment downtime. This position will take the lead role on the back shifts to effectively operate the facility.

Job Functions

  • Responsible for planning and coordinating manpower and equipment to effectively drive productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Acts as a liaison between production and maintenance departments.
  • Assist with employee training, safety, quality, area housekeeping.
  • Work with the plant superintendent setting and achieving plant operational goals.
  • Uses Microsoft, Maximo and other computer systems to maintain records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of operational information.

Minimum Requirements
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to focus on identification of root causes and corrective actions.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to plan priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for coordination, training, reporting, and analysis.
  • Must be proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization and planning, partnering, and utilizing a proactive approach to reliability.
High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years in an industrial setting.
Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
