Position Summary:
Reporting to the End-to-End (E2E) Regional Manager, the Process Technology Manager Animal Nutrition – North America Region will be responsible for leading a team of process technology engineers assigned to a variety of ADM Animal Nutrition facilities across the US and Canada. The primary purposes of the position is to ensure maximum value is obtained from efficient manufacturing operations through engineering fundamentals and industry best practices, aligning capital investment with operational and business needs and driving continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Use process knowledge to guide plant operation teams and technology engineers in the optimization of unit operations and the achievement of production targets.
  • Provide leadership and support for capital projects associated with NDE, cost savings and growth including the front-end loading (FEL) process.
  • Work with the process technology engineers, operations, end to end (E2E), and business stakeholders to develop and manage both the yearly and long term capital budgets.
  • Serve as a technical resource for North America (US & Canada) Animal Nutrition leaders including assisting plant personnel with the diagnosis of operational difficulties and providing recommendations for corrective action.
  • Implement and track performance metrics to maintain or improve the efficiency of advanced process control and optimization applications.
  • Contribute to global standardization within ADM by collaborating with global technology centers and other regional technology managers.
  • Drive innovation of process and technology within operations by creating and maintaining cooperation with industry manufacturers, universities, and business associations
  • Promote cultural change within the region to ensure that plant processes are able to operate at optimum levels consistently over time.

Required Skills:

  • Dedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of others.
  • Understand various process unit operations including material handling systems, batching, pelleting, extrusion and packaging systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant engineers and management.
  • Working knowledge of common process drawings and documentation.
  • Experience leading capital projects with knowledge of stage gate processes for project development.
  • Willingness to spend time in plant areas – tolerate extreme temperatures, walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spaces.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to cooperate and network with other regional technology managers across the globe
  • Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently while traveling to remote plant locations.
  • 25-30% US Travel

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the fields of Engineering, Technology, or other related field.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ Process/Project Engineer experience.
  • Need 2-3 years of plant process systems including previous operations leadership experience.
  • Experience with optimization/analytical processes and tools.
  • Experience in animal feed, premix or ingredient manufacturing would be beneficial.
