Commercial Manager Strategic Initiatives & CO2 – Decatur, IL

As a core member of the Strategic Initiatives team within the BioSolutions group, the selected person will work closely with key leaders across the Carbs Sol BU to advance the decarbonization efforts of the company through among other tasks working to acquire pore space for ADM’s sequestration initiatives as well as exploring and evaluating new innovative decarbonization technologies that will help shape the future of the company. This position is an excellent opportunity to develop the right candidate to utilize their strategic competencies as well as build additional commercial, financial and leadership qualities. This position is both demanding and rewarding with high visibility and exposure to Carbohydrate Solutions leadership as well as the broader ADM leadership team.

Job Responsibilities:
Pore Space Acquisition

• Work to develop and execute land acquisition strategies for pore space for ADM’s sequestration operations
• Educate landowners on the scope of the project including, but not limited to, lease terms and conditions, timing, procedures, and financial arrangements
• Negotiate and acquire easements/leases and related agreements from project landowners
• Work independently to establish contact with multiple landowners across the region
• Establish a positive rapport with multiple landowners to facilitate a positive working relationship
• Travel and meet with landowners as needed to successfully negotiate and secure pore space within the required geographies

• Lead the investigation and evaluation of new and innovative decarbonization technologies, including assisting in the preparation of business models and materials required to communicate the commercial and financial business case
• Build dynamic financial models required to support innovative programs and new products
• Work with BioSolutions leadership to evaluate opportunities for the longer term growth strategy
• Evaluate disruptive technologies with a focus on how ADM can leverage utilization of existing operations

• 7+ years prior experience in business related field
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Ag Business related field
• Confident, effective communicator with strong executive presence and influence
• Strong analytical abilities
• Strong attention to detail required
• Ability to look at ADM from a “Big Picture” vantagepoint and how new ideas/technologies could be incorporated
• Ability to identify and address cross-functional issues that may be relevant to completing or implementing acquisitions and alliances
• Experience making decisions in intense and complex conditions
• Demonstrate commercial acumen and desire to learn
• Proficiency in Excel financial modeling and Power Point presentation
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Demonstrated capacity to perform in a fast-paced, Global work environment
• Travel up to 20%
