City Operations Manager – Decatur, IL
ADM Trucking
This is a full time, exempt level position.

Position Summary:
The City Operations Manager will manage all aspects associated with the city drivers/supervisors within the Decatur ADM Trucking location. The successful candidate will be required to work nights or weekends as needed for coverage. This position reports to the ADM Trucking Terminal Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with plant personnel to create a cohesive work environment
  • Understand and comply with DOT, OSHA and Food Safety regulations.
  • Complete Job Safety Audit (JSA’s), Job Cycle Checks (JCC’s) and related audits with professional drivers
  • Set goals for number of JCC’s and related audits
  • Conduct side by side audits to review technique
  • Maintain safety goals and current statistics on goal status
  • Continually implement monthly safety topic program and reporting
  • Establish timeline and ensure all required training is completed for new employees
  • Log violations into the IMS system and establish follow up procedures (SOP)
  • Maintain current DOT VIR requirements and current audit program
  • Manage current progressive discipline policy and establish follow up procedures regarding speed and percentages
  • Ensure incidents are investigated properly, entered into Sphera and equipment is maintained within the proper guidelines.
  • Responsible for Injury/Accident/Near Miss/Service Failure Investigations
  • Coordinate on-time service to plants and for preloads
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Manage and maintain lot checks
  • Use and create metrics to evaluate business effectiveness and profitability
  • Oversee city fleet of 100+ vans and tankers
Job Requirements:
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous trucking or transportation management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Must have flexibility to work inside and outside (office setting and field setting)
