Job Description
Process Engineer, Archer Daniels Midland Company, Decatur, IL. Improve processes for production in all facets of operation through direct contributions of project development from conception though start-up. Optimize specific processes and projects. Troubleshoot processes, perform RCA’s, and implement countermeasures and corrective action via DMAIC methodology. Project design, development and management that are specific to the operations of an operating department. Conduct optimization assessments to identify existing and potential opportunities, propose solutions to improve performance primarily in the areas of energy, chemicals, product yields, and reliability. Support capital projects including control strategy development, P&ID management, administration of process control narratives suitable for control application development and process start up.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or a related field, and three (3) years of related work experience.
Must have three (3) years of experience with/in:
- Leading Plant operations to maintain personnel and process safety with respect to chemical equipment and processes;
- Applying engineering principles to tasks ranging from process design to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies;
- Knowledge of at least three (3) process unit operations including conveying, extraction, distillation, reactors, refining, deodorization, and dryers;
- Tracking and understanding department costs, yields, quality, and process performance;
- Technical analysis of the process to find and implement performance, quality, and process safety improvements; and
- Plant operations.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$96,866/yr. - $106,866/yr.
