This is a full-time, exempt level position.
Position Summary:
The Senior Payroll & Benefits Analyst is responsible for analyzing and managing payroll and benefits-related financial data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll processes. This role involves reviewing payroll and benefits entries and account reconciliations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting strategic decision-making. The position requires strong communication and analytical skills to influence stakeholders and improve payroll accounting operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review payroll and benefits journal entries, including accruals, into the accounting system.
- Analyze and review payroll, payroll taxes, and benefit balance sheet accounts, identifying discrepancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze and review employee benefits and pension related activity and footnote disclosures to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve audit findings.
- Maintain and update SOPs.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and IT teams to implement system upgrades or process changes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll accounting matters, providing guidance to HR, Finance, and other departments.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, control and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven track record of process improvement.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience with Power BI and large ERP systems (e.e. JDE, SAP, Blackline, etc) a plus
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret large datasets and derive actionable insights.
- Communication: Clear and concise communication with internal stakeholders across departments.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Initiative: Proactive approach to identifying and addressing payroll-related issues.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$88,000.00 - $164,000.00
Salaried Incentive Plan
The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
