Merchandiser Edible Bean/SI Risk Management - Decatur, IL (preferred) or Fargo, ND or Minneapolis, MN

Position Summary
This role serves as a critical connector across commercial sales, grower origination, and operations within the Edible Beans platform. The Merchandiser will own key merchandising, origination, and logistics coordination responsibilities, driving value through market development, asset optimization, and risk-informed decision making. This is a high-visibility role within the Edible Beans leadership team, offering strong exposure to cross-functional leadership and a clear path for advancement within the business.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Merchandising Leadership

  • Own merchandising strategy for by-product streams (culls, splits, swept seed), maximizing value recovery across commercial and seed operations
  • Support edible bean export trading programs to Mexico/LATAM and work in coordination with AS&O and ADM logistics
  • Assist third-party sourcing/trading of edible bean/pulses for export trading program to Mexico/LATAM
  • Support edible bean origination for the Enderlin, ND ingredient facility
  • Support yellow pea merchandising/origination strategy
  • Execute against evolving commercial priorities with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
Risk Management & Market Intelligence
  • Monitor daily position and risk exposure for Specialty Ingredients
  • Gather and synthesize market intelligence across ADM (AS&O, Carb Solutions, etc.)
  • Recommend raw material purchasing strategies and hedging approaches based on market conditions and business needs
  • Translate market signals into actionable commercial decisions
Logistics & Operational Integration
  • Schedule internal product flows (truck/rail) across the regional asset networks
  • Coordinate across operations, commercial, customer support, and quality teams
  • Maintain visibility to regional inventory positions to support efficient product moves and minimize cost
Required Skills & Capabilities
  • Strong analytical capability; ability to translate data into actionable insights (Excel, Power BI, etc.)
  • High sense of urgency with a bias for action and ownership
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong troubleshooting capability across logistics and operational challenges
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, transportation, rail systems)
  • Background in commodity merchandising, agriculture, or ingredient supply chains
  • Experience building and presenting management-level reports (positions, P&L, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial, origination, or plant operations
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain coordination

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$90,400.00 - $151,200.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
