In this role, you will be the backbone of our laboratory operations. Your mission is to ensure scientists have the materials needed to advance cutting-edge research. This position offers comprehensive training and hands-on learning opportunities in laboratory operations, automation and microbiology.

Job responsibilities
As a key member of the Cell Engineering team, you will:

  • Prepare a variety of liquid and solid media, and other laboratory reagents accurately and efficiently
  • Keep glassware and other lab materials clean, sterile and ready for use
  • Sterilize, stock, and organize consumables
  • Safely autoclave and dispose of laboratory liquid and solid waste (following established procedures and training)
  • Maintain inventories and identify replenishment needs proactively, and in a timely manner
  • Receive, organize, and stock incoming laboratory supplies
  • Manage chemical ordering, storage, and assist with disposal with responsibility
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, incubators and biosafety cabinets
  • Coordinate equipment and room maintenance, and repair requests
  • Keep shared laboratory spaces clean, organized, and fully stocked
  • Identify opportunities to improve organization, efficiency, and laboratory workflows
  • Support scientists and colleagues with additional laboratory activities as needed
  • Contribute to a knowledge-sharing, positive and safe work environment
Qualifications
Required
  • Associate degree with at least 2 years of microbiology laboratory experience
  • Good basic math skills and a critical mind
  • Proficiency with computers and common software applications such as Microsoft Office (strong proficiency in Excel)
  • Willingness to learn and utilize laboratory information systems (LIMS) and other digital tools daily
  • A track record of following written and verbal instructions, and work mostly independently after training
  • Experience standing for up to seven hours and lifting up to 50 pounds

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$49,000.00 - $87,300.00
