Quality Manager | Caterpillar | Decatur, IL

As a Quality Manager at Caterpillar, you will oversee the administration and continual improvement of quality management systems. Focus will be developing and supporting team with activities; training, rapid response to Supplier related issues to include problem solving, containment, feedback with supplier and updates to operations and leadership

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of hourly quality inspectors and first responders.
• Investigate supplier quality issues.
• Support Built-In Quality (BIQ) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) initiatives for the Decatur facility.
• Own and prioritize process containment, ECA, and ICA with team and suppliers, ensuring corrective actions are driven back to suppliers
• Maintain quality system documentation and analyze trends in non-conformance.
• Support internal and external audits, including follow-up on corrective actions.
• Supporting development of quality assurance strategies, processes, guidelines and control plans which assure quality and reliability of manufactured products.
• Leading the development and implementation of corrective action and preventive measures to achieve quality targets
• Leading, managing and developing multiple teams, team leaders, quality specialists and inspectors to assure that quality standards are met.
• Developing and reviewing reports to review with quality assurance, production, management, and engineering personnel to solve quality issues.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with SPAP, PPAP, IQA, CQMS, ISO
• Strong understanding of BIQ, CPI, and RCCA Processes
• Proficiency in AQE, Excel and Power BI.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Previous supervisory experience

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
