Job Description
At Caterpillar, our Large Wheel Loaders and Wheel Tractor‑Scrapers power some of the world’s most demanding construction, mining, and infrastructure projects. As the Product Procurement Manager, you’ll sit at the center of these iconic machines connecting engineering, operations, and a global supplier network to ensure the right components are delivered with speed, quality, and resilience.
In this highly visible role, you’ll own the sourcing strategy for critical systems and components, partnering closely with engineering, product groups, quality, and operations to support new product launches, design changes, and continuous improvement. Your work directly influences cost, risk, supplier performance, and product success, making this a role where decisions are felt across the business and on machines operating around the world.

Responsibilities
- Manages the relationship between procurement and the division/business unit, including representing supply management, being the trusted advisor on the supply markets, and collaboration leader of product and process from the supply side.
- Leading a team responsible for defining or approving product/component collaboration strategies, networking design and governance, negotiating service level agreements, providing leadership for make/buy, NPI, and aligning business planning.
- Leveraging skillset and knowledge within procurement to help the product groups develop optimal and executable value chains.
- Leading and deploying key projects (including NPI execution) to successfully meet product group’s targets.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or related functions
- Experience within Caterpillar or a comparable large, complex manufacturing environment
- Strong background in engineering and cross‑functional collaboration with product teams
- Demonstrated experience in supply chain strategy and direct material procurement
- Proven involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives and execution
What Skills You Will Need:
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Stakeholder Management: Knowledge of stakeholder management techniques; ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and implement various tasks to engage with them.
Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
Procurement Function: Knowledge of responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of procurement function; ability to perform tasks and activities of the procurement functions or department.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
