Job Description:
Caterpillar is seeking a Material Requirements Planning Manager in Decatur, IL. In this role you will be primarily responsible for maintaining agreed-upon inventory levels to provide a flow of raw materials and components from the supply chain to the manufacturing facility.
What You Will do:
- Ensures inventory stockroom conditions meet defined environmental and handling requirements for all materials and products.
- Manages staffing, training, development, and performance of materials management personnel while supporting effective labor relations.
- Establishes, monitors, and maintains optimal inventory levels through analysis and data‑driven recommendations.
- Coordinates the maintenance, support, and effective use of inventory management systems and software.
Top Candidates Will Have:
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience, is desired
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
Solid product knowledge
Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
Strong supplier relationship management skills
The ability to develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially supplier-focused Caterpillar initiatives
Solid logistics and manufacturing knowledge
What Skills you will have:
Planning (Tactical & Strategic):
Develops and aligns detailed tactical plans with broader strategic objectives, ensuring resource allocation, dependencies, and departmental plans are integrated with the overall business plan.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
Applies structured critical thinking techniques to gather and organize relevant data, clarify and prioritize concerns, document stakeholders and processes, and support risk‑ and benefit‑based decision making.
Logistics Management:
Supports domestic logistics operations by using established tools and systems to forecast delivery, manage costs, maintain shipment records, track lead times, and contribute to process and network improvements.
Supply Chain Management:
Contributes to supply chain activities by recognizing relevant systems, participating in analysis to identify trends and improvements, and supporting integration considerations across specific supply chain processes.
Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
