The City of Decatur has hired the Champaign County Planning and Community Development Division to evaluate their bus stops, specifically the amenities, signage, lighting, shelter and safety features. The positions would roughly be 30 hours per week and would last from May through August or until all the bus stops have been collected (roughly 900 of them). Please see job post below.

Description
The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission seeks a Data Collection Intern to collect and analyze field data for urban planning projects.
Job Responsibilities:

Take and record measurements and photos in the field

Perform quality assurance to ensure data accuracy

Clean, map, and analyze datasets to prepare them for planning applications
Requirements
-
At least one year of progress toward a degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field

Basic understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial data
-
Attention to detail and ability to work independently in an outdoor setting

Valid driver’s license
-
Advance level knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and report generating
