Decatur Park District Job Description. Job Title: Day Camp Bus Driver. Classification: Seasonal, Non-exempt. Department: DISC. POSITION FOCUS Safely transport DISC Day Camp staff and campers to and from field trip locations. Organize and direct staff and campers on the bus to keep it clean and safe. Support the summer camp team to provide a positive experience. SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Summer Day Camp Director; day-to-day supervision from Assistant Directors. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Inspect vehicle before/after trips; follow routes and schedules; check vehicle safety (tires, brakes, signals, etc.); monitor/report fuel, mileage, and passengers; report delays/accidents/emergencies; assist with loading/unloading; enforce conduct and safety rules; maintain a clean vehicle; be attentive to traffic and weather conditions. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS Previous bus driving experience; excellent interpersonal/organizational/communication skills; reliable and professional; follow safety regulations; CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement; clear background check and drug screen.
