Job Title: Park Laborer - Horticulture. Department: Horticulture Department. Reports To: Horticulture Supervisor. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt - Seasonal, $15/hour. SUMMARY Completes repairs, improvements, construction and maintenance of Park District grounds, gardens, facilities, and buildings. Maintains and operates equipment and completes landscaping. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Prepares beds and sites; plants, trims, prunes, mulches, waters, weeds; installs/transplants/removes plant, turf, shrub, flower and tree materials; operates vehicles, trailers, mowing/trimming equipment, chainsaws, wood chippers, tillers, hand/power tools; hauls soil/mulch/compost/gravel; occasional snow plowing; loads/unloads and delivers equipment/supplies; maintains equipment; performs routine building maintenance; repairs park fixtures; rakes leaves, trims trees, shovels sidewalks; cleans areas of debris or litter; assists other departments; maintains clean work site.
