Basic Function:

The Vice President of Trust and Wealth Management manages the daily administrative functions of accounts managed by the VP, including trusts, estates, investment management accounts, court-appointed accounts, IRA’s, and other account types as necessary. The VP will also manage the investment portfolios contained in the VP’s accounts. Additionally, the VP will be tasked with growing the Department’s business in the Decatur market.

Essential Job Duties:

• Responsible for trust administration, compliance and risk management
• Policy/procedure review
• Assist Divisional Manager with Board Reporting
• Participate on the Trust Administrative Committee and Trust Investment Committee
• Assist with examinations/audits internally and with FDIC/IDFPR
• Prepare court accountings for court related accounts
• Assist with annual fiduciary income tax reporting and filing
• Complete Reg. 9 annual reviews
• Act as discretionary investment manager for Department accounts
• Identify prospects and cultivate new business for all Bank departments
• Other duties as needed for the Bank and its customer’s continued success

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of trust related administration and investment management
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• High level of integrity, diligence, risk management, and compliance with industry standards
• Service/sales oriented
• Multi-functional adaptability with excellent time-management and organizational skills
• Ability to review and understand the complexity of trusts, wills and other court documentation

Training and Experience:

• The qualified candidate must have at least five years trust and/or wealth management experience
• 4-year college degree preferred, completion of trust school and other similar industry certifications and designations is strongly preferred
• Significant experience with various trust and investment software systems and platforms is required
• Prior banking experience is preferred

This is a full time, exempt position eligible for a competitive benefit package.
