Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment.Surgical Technologists are important members of the surgery team supporting surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care before during and after surgical procedures.
Position Specifics:
- Hospital approved for $90M renovation. Preparing for a brand new, state of the art unit!
- Department: Surgical Technologist First Assist. Provides direct support to surgeon and clinical team throughout perioperative phase of care. Positions and preps patients prior to surgery, ensures clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges, controls bleeding, closes surgery sites and properly dresses wounds. Assists in maintaining an effective operating theater and optimizes procedural care. Orientation is typically 3 months but could be faster coming in with experience
- Schedule: Full-Time Days (40 hours per week). On call/weekend rotation, currently on a 5-day rotation (so every 5th day you would be on call at the time the shift ends or if it’s a weekend day it would be for 24hrs). Buddy call would start midway through orientation and then independent responsibilities would start once off orientation
- Location: Decatur, IL
- Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
- Compensation that aligns with experience
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in surgical technology or surgical first assist preferred.
Experience:
- 3 years surgery experience preferred.
Certifications Licenses and Registrations:
- IL WI - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Pay Range:
$29.55 - $44.32A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.
