Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainer, operations will be the following:

  • Assist / support Pharmacy management in assessment of personnel training needs.
  • Assist / support Pharmacy management in training and competency program development /enhancement
  • Assist / support Pharmacy management in implementation of new training/competency programs.
  • Completes training of new and existing technician personnel.
  • Completes competency assessment of technician staff.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Training or experience in education, communication, or related field preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma White Belt Training within 12 months.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training, if approved, within 5 years.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • Possesses a current State of Illinois Technician license.
  • Possesses & maintains current status as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT).
  • ASTD certification or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience at Memorial Medical Center Pharmacy.
  • Demonstrates all values of the organization as demonstrated through work history and documented on performance review.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, basic math, and customer relations skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrates understanding of organizational culture and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead trainer for pharmacy technician core positions during 90-day probationary period.

  1. Develops, modifies, and implements training schedules for new technician staff.

  1. Identifies, evaluates, and reports performance and behavioral problems or issues with new and existing staff.

  1. Modification of staff training plans to address individual staff deficiencies.

  1. Assists Pharmacy management in the design of training programs.

  1. Assists in the selection of other technician trainers as needed.

  1. Coordinates/performs staff competency assessments.

  1. Assists in staff training for new technologies, procedures, or programs.

  1. Develops annual goals consistent with MHS strategic plan and goals.

  1. Manages/updates all records of education/competency for the department.

  1. Attend Employment Development (EDI) or Leadership Development (LDI) courses through Organizational Learning & Development as determined by manager.

  1. Performs other related work as required or requested.
