The position is a full-time, in-person, 12-month, salaried position that provides daily administration, management, supervision, and evaluation of critical responsibilities related to the successful operations of career services and revenue-generating career events. The position requires occasional evening and weekend hours to support operations and signature events and will perform additional responsibilities related to operational and mission-critical needs.<span> </span></p><p> </p><p><strong>Essential Responsibilities: </strong><span> </span></p><p>Examples of the essential responsibilities for the position include: </p><p><span> </span></p><p><strong>Student Engagement (50%) </strong></p><ol> <li>Promoting <strong>I</strong>nclusion, <strong>D</strong>iversity, <strong>E</strong>quity, <strong>A</strong>ccessibility, and <strong>S</strong>ense of belonging (e.g., foster welcoming environment; participate in and ensure staff participation in appropriate training and professional development; ensure accessibility to services; promote inclusive excellence in programming and service delivery; report policy, legal, and regulatory violations; etc.). </li> <li>Developing, presenting, and assessing career success and professional development related programs to meet the needs of students and alumni/ae (e.g., administer and interpret or career assessments or arrange them; conduct one-on-one consultations; conduct or arrange workshops focused on interviewing, negotiating, managing conflict, resume writing; present or arrange presentations to classes and student organizations; provide employment and graduate school advice; etc.)<span> </span> </li> <li>Supporting, as needed, teaching components (based on qualifications) for the Exploratory course and aid exploratory studies students in making informed decisions regarding major and career selection (e.g., design and implement instructional activities; maintain office hours; invite speakers; archive and share resources; etc.). </li> <li>Assisting with planning and programming related to signature campus events such as Orientation, Fall Family Weekend, Homecoming, Big Event, Welcome Week, Cookie Event Tradition, Commencement, etc. </li> </ol><p><strong>Administration (10%) </strong></p><p><span><strong> </strong></span></p><ol> <li>Proposing and accounting for budgetary and financial resources. </li> <li>Directing activities to compile, prepare, and disseminate the annual Graduate First Destination Report (e.g., collaborate with colleges to determine data needs; coordinate with Handshake; disseminate to students; collect and analyze data; draft summary reports; etc.). </li> <li>Overseeing student staff (e.g., recruit, hire, mentor, and supervise undergraduate and graduate student employees; delegate work assignments; ensure professional development; handle personnel actions; etc.). </li> <li>Collecting, analyzing, and reporting participation, satisfaction, learning, and other outcomes as appropriate. </li> </ol><p><span><strong> </strong></span></p><p><strong>Events Management (30%)</strong> </p><ol><li>Planning, implementing, hosting, and evaluating revenue-generating Career and Graduate School Fairs (e.g., partner with Manager of University Commons, Campus Scheduling, and Events; partner with academic departments, employers, and industry leaders; handle outreach, registration, logistics, and billing; etc.).</li></ol><p><span> </span></p><p><strong>Other Value-Added Tasks (10%)</strong> </p><ol> <li>Attending and serving as a leader in appropriate professional associations to enhance skills, bring and share knowledge related to student engagement and success, and improve visibility and influence of Millikin University (e.g., National Career Development Association; NASPA; etc.).<span> </span> </li> <li>Collaborating and partnering with campus offices to achieve student success metrics such as retention, engagement, graduation, and placement.<span> </span> </li> <li>Participating in program and service-delivery evaluation and assessment activities. </li> <li>Serving on appropriate university or community committees, councils, and boards as recommended by the supervisor or University President. </li> </ol><p><span><strong> </strong></span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong> </p><p><span> </span></p><p><strong>Minimum Education and Experience </strong><span> </span></p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree <strong>or</strong> the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired <strong>and </strong><span> </span> </li> <li>At least five years of full-time professional experience performing duties related to the position as determined by start and end dates on the résumé. Graduate Assistantships will count as .50 time. Internships and Practica experiences will count as .25 time. </li> </ul><p><span> </span></p><p><strong>Desirable Education and Experience</strong> </p><ol> <li>Master’s degree. </li> <li>Related experiences in a college or university setting. </li> <li>Experience with career fairs, graduate fairs, or other events management.<span> </span> </li> <li>Experience or certified in administering MBTI or career-related inventories. </li> <li>Experience supervising staff at any professional level. </li> <li>Experience facilitating, teaching, and/or developing career programs. </li> <li>Experience in student learning assessment or program evaluation. </li> <li>Experience developing and managing budgets. </li> <li>Experience using software or database platforms related to the position. </li> <li>Experience in contract development and/or negotiations. </li> </ol><p><span> </span></p><p><strong>Required Skills and Abilities: </strong><span> </span></p><p><span> projects, programs, services, etc. </li> <li><span>Conflict resolution skills: ability to use interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive professional relationships and resolve conflict in a team environment and with individuals from various diverse backgrounds and experiences. </span></li> <li>Analytical skills: ability to analyze information and offer sound recommendations.<span> </span> </li> <li>Computational skills: ability to perform basic mathematical computations to assist with financial operations and/or data collection, analysis, and reporting. </li> <li>Computer skills: proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, preferably Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Outlook Calendaring, Office 365. </li> </ol><p><span> software/database related to career services (e.g., Handshake, etc.). </li> <li>Student knowledge: knowledge of generational college students and the ability to design generation- and audience-specific programs, events, and services. </li> <li>Accountability: experience with applying formative, summative, qualitative, and/or quantitative methodologies to assessing student learning outcomes and/or evaluating programs and services. </li> <li>Multimedia experience: ability to collaborate on or design brochures, event flyers, and/or newsletters and develop and manage social media accounts. </li> <li>Reporting experience: experience with program databases or software programs used to track, monitor, and report services to students. </li> <li>Ability to plan and execute programs
