<p><span><strong>Position Title:</strong></span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"> Title IX and Student Conduct Officer</span><span> </span></p><p><span><strong>Department:</strong></span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"> Student Affairs </span><span> </span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"> </span></p><ul><li> <span><strong>Modality:</strong> </span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"><strong> </strong>To be discussed during the interview process.</span> </li></ul><p><span><strong>Job Summary: </strong> </span></p><p><span>All positions in Student Affairs are expected to uphold and fulfill the mission, vision, values and traditions of Millikin University and the Division of Student Affairs. The position is a full-time, in-person, 12-month, salaried position responsible for educational programs, outreach and support services, and timely investigations related to Title IX and student conduct. The position requires occasional evening and weekend hours to support operations and signature events and will perform additional responsibilities related to operational and mission-critical needs. </span></p><p><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"><strong>Essential Responsibilities: </strong></span><span> </span></p><p><span>Examples of the essential responsibilities for the position include: </span></p><p><span><strong>Education and Training (10%)</strong> </span></p><ol> <li> <span> Promoting </span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"><strong>I</strong>nclusion, <strong>D</strong>iversity, <strong>E</strong>quity, <strong>A</strong>ccessibility, and <strong>S</strong>ense of belonging (e.g., foster welcoming environment; participate in and ensure students participate in appropriate training and professional development; promote inclusive excellence in programming and service delivery; report policy, legal, and regulatory violations; etc.).</span><span> </span> </li> <li><span>Developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive and exemplary “Title IX and Student Conduct Education and Training Program” anchored in outcomes, university and division values, improving behaviors and attitudes of campus community, and compliance (e.g., research aspirational models; collaborate with faculty, Student Affairs colleagues, Public Safety, and industry leaders and experts; orientation presentations; present to student organizations; etc.). </span></li> <li><span>Securing and maintaining educational and training resources for staff and students and their families. </span></li> <li><span>Proposing and accounting for budgetary and financial resources. </span></li> <li><span>Overseeing student staff (e.g., recruit, hire, mentor, and supervise undergraduate and graduate student staff; delegate work assignments; ensure professional development; handle personnel actions; etc.). </span></li> </ol><p><span><strong>Title IX Investigations (40%)</strong> </span></p><ol start="6"> <li><span>Serving as the primary investigator for Title IX complaints involving students (e.g., intake; interim support measures for all parties involved; investigations; hearings; referrals; preparing reports; record-keeping; etc.). </span></li> <li><span>Engaging and leveraging knowledge and skillsets of trained Title IX campus partners to assist with processes as appropriate. </span></li> </ol><p><span><strong>Student Conduct Investigations (40%)</strong> </span></p><ol start="6"> <li><span>Serving as the primary investigator for violations of the student code of conduct (e.g., intake; interim support measures for all parties involved; investigations; hearings; referrals; preparing reports; record-keeping; etc.)</span></li> <li><span>Engaging and leveraging knowledge and skillsets of trained campus partners to assist with processes as appropriate. </span></li> </ol><p><span><strong>Other Value-Added Tasks (10%)</strong> </span></p><ol start="6"> <li><span>Recommending revisions to policies and procedures as appropriate.</span></li> <li><span>Participating in program and service-delivery evaluation and assessment activities. </span></li> <li><span>Attending and serving as a leader in appropriate professional associations to enhance skills, bring and share knowledge related to student engagement and success, and improve visibility and influence of Millikin University (e.g., Association for Student Conduct Administration; NASPA; etc.). </span></li> <li><span>Serving on appropriate university or community committees, councils, and boards as recommended by the supervisor or University President. </span></li> <li><span>Participating in the Student Affairs emergency on-call efforts. </span></li> </ol><p><span><strong>Qualifications:</strong> </span></p><p><span><strong>Minimum Education and Experience </strong> </span></p><ul> <li> <span>Bachelor’s degree </span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"><strong>or</strong> the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired <strong>and </strong></span><span> </span> </li> <li><span>At least three years of full-time professional experience performing duties related to the position as determined by start and end dates on the résumé. Graduate Assistantships will count as .50 time. Internships and Practica experiences will count as .25 time. </span></li> </ul><p><span><strong>Desirable Education and Experience</strong> </span></p><ol> <li><span>Master’s degree, JD degree, or terminal degree. </span></li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">ATIXA or other related certified training.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Related experiences in a college or university setting.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Experience in investigative practices and methodologies.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Experience with Title IX or Student Conduct processes noted in duties.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Experience supervising staff at any professional level.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Experience facilitating, teaching, and/or developing educational or training programs.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Experience in student learning assessment or program evaluation.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Experience developing and managing budgets.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Experience using software or database platforms related to the position.</span><span> </span> </li> <li> <span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Experience in risk management practices.</span><span> </span> </li> </ol><p><span><strong>Required Skills and Abilities:
