<p class="text-align-center"><span><strong>Transfer Coordinator</strong></span></p> <p class="text-align-center"><strong>Job Description</strong></p> <p class="text-align-center"> </p> <p><span>Position Title: Transfer Coordinator  </span></p> <p><span>Department: Office of the Registrar                                                          </span></p> <ul><li><span>Working Relationships: Office of Admission, Office of the Registrar Staff, College Deans and faculty, community college partners</span></li></ul> <p> </p> <p><span>Position Summary: The Transfer Coordinator is a 12-month salaried position reporting to the University Registrar. The position requires a broad understanding of academic goals in higher education that lead to a baccalaureate degree, detailed understanding of Millikin University’s curriculum and academic structure, and skills in articulating coursework from a variety of academic institutions nationwide. Additionally, the position requires excellent communication skills in diverse environments and the ability to work independently to achieve institutional and divisional goals and objectives. The Transfer Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for transfer articulation questions, transfer articulation software, transfer agreements, and transfer orientation. This position will develop high level working relationships with the Office of Admission and academic areas to provide the best overall experience for transferring students. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span>VALUES</span></p> <p><span>All employees are expected to uphold the values of the University. Learn and use what works best in this culture for achievement of enrollment management objectives.</span></li> <li><span>Work with academic departments to foster and maintain articulation agreements. </span></li> <li><span>Plan and implement Transfer Orientation. </span></li> <li><span>Cultivate college counselors, faculty and other constituencies to assist with the articulation agreement process.</span></li> <li><span>Partner with the Office of Admission during peak recruitment seasons to visit and cultivate relationships with community college partners and students.</span></li> <li><span>Coordinate the reverse transfer process. </span></li> <li><span>Serve as an additional support/secondary advisor for matriculated transfer students. </span></li> <li><span>Oversee course articulation software, i.e. Transferology, TES, and iManage. </span></li> <li> <span>Other duties as assigned, including:</span><ul> <li><span>Support day-to-day function of the Office of the Registrar</span></li> <li><span>Meet with potential transfer students to help them understand course transferability </span></li> <li><span>Other duties as assigned by the University Registrar</span></li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.</span></li> <li><span>Minimum of one-year admission, student counseling or related professional experience preferred.</span></li> <li><span>Ability and desire to effectively and credibly interact with transfer students, parents, university faculty, university administrators, and faculty and staff of external colleges/community colleges.</span></li> <li><span>Organized, accurate, detail oriented, and extremely timely in customer service and sales situations.</span></li> <li><span>Ability and willingness to learn and properly use technology in routine performance of daily job functions.</span></li> <li><span>Outstanding writing and communication skills pertinent to business correspondence.</span></li> <li><span>Demonstrated ability to self-manage time, activity, and spending, staying focused on accomplishment of objectives. </span></li> <li><span>Outstanding presentation skills.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES </strong></span> <br> </p> <ul> <li><span>Requires daily use of Microsoft Office suite, Ellucian Banner (Student Information System), Target X, Transferology, and TES. </span></li> <li><span>This position particularly requires a high aptitude for quickly establishing mutual rapport and comfort when meeting people for the first time in person and on the phone. </span></li> <li><span>This position requires analytical skills to understand the transfer student and course articulation process landscape. </span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Work Environment:</strong></span></p> <p><span>Manual Dexterity: </span></p> <ul><li><span>Dexterity to operate a keyboard</span></li></ul> <p><span>Physical Effort: </span></p> <ul> <li><span>Occasionally sitting at a desk or table</span></li> <li><span>Occasionally standing or walking; intermittently sitting/standing/stooping</span></li> <li><span>Occasionally lifting 25 lbs. or more</span></li> </ul> <p><span>Working Conditions: </span></p> <ul> <li><span>Typical working conditions found in most administrative work areas</span></li> <li><span>alternative or flexible work schedules</span></li> </ul> <p> </p>
