Administrative Assistant
Mueller Company – Customer Experience Administrative Assistant Opening
Hourly rate: $25.00/hour
Mueller Company (Mueller Co.), the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening in our Customer Experience Department for an Administrative Assistant. This position opening is located at Mueller's Shared Services office in Decatur, Illinois and will report to the Customer Experience – Order Entry Supervisor.
The ideal candidate possesses seven or more years of recent work experience supporting individuals or a group(s) with administrative duties. Desired applicants must have a positive disposition, a willingness to offer assistance, and ability to prioritize multiple items in an efficient manner. Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Coordinate and maintain Salesforce for the department with routing cases, updating information on accounts, and being a resource for all administrative questions regarding the system
- Coordinate all new hires for the department including maintaining all training material, submitting IT tickets for equipment, and
- Routing all phone calls for the company to the appropriate divisions
- Make all travel arrangements for department
- Help with electronic storage of all documents within JD Edwards
- Resource to create and track repairs, in-house shippers, tracking for outside suppliers of materials, and
- Organize and maintain all supplies for the department and maintain what is needed on a weekly basis
- Learn and help with disputes for the department and help research as required
- Route and maintain invoices for the Accounts Payable department
- Ability to coordinate projects for the building and see through until completion
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of three (3) years administrative assistant experience
- Previous Salesforce experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (computer testing may be required to assess proficiency with these software packages)
- Must have strong social and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers
- Ability to prioritize many different tasks at once
- Ability to adapt to changes and requests from multiple requestors
Ideal Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Office Technology, Administration, or Business related discipline
- 7+ years administrative assistance experience
- Microsoft Office Specialist Certification or comparable computer certification
- Certified Professional Secretary (CPS), Certified Administrative Professional (CAP), or similar administrative professional designation
- Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and DHL services for domestic and international shipping
- Proficiency with customer service duties and/or previous administrative assistant experience in a customer-facing environment

Primary work hours will be Monday through Friday. Regular start time will be between 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. with an end time between 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. This position does have a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Overtime may be required on an intermittent basis. (This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay.)

$25.00/hour USD
The compensation range above reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment as of the date of posting. Individual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the role, professional experience, job-related skills, achievements, and/or work location. The range listed is only one component of the total compensation package offered to candidates.
