THE OPPORTUNITY
The Maintenance Supervisor plans, directs, and supervises all maintenance pipefitting and welding activities required to support department needs. This role leads the maintenance pipe crew and provides technical support as needed. You will partner with department and production leaders to ensure timely communication, accurate reporting, and effective corrective actions, including establishing work-order priorities based on equipment availability and production needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Model a strong safety culture and reinforce expectations for safety, environmental compliance, quality, and food safety.
- Ensure the team follows Primient procedures, permits, and protocols for safety, environmental compliance, quality, and food safety.
- Set daily/weekly priorities for work orders in coordination with production to support safe, timely repairs and planned downtime.
- Communicate with the maintenance and production teams throughout the day; track job status and adjust plans as needed.
- Lead the pipe team reporting to this role; assign work, remove barriers, and ensure quality execution.
- Coach and develop employees through feedback, training, and performance management.
- Participate in daily planning meetings to align resources, parts, and schedules.
- Review, prioritize, and schedule work notifications and work orders.
- Coordinate parts and tools and execute maintenance work as needed.
- Maintain and update maintenance schedules and related documentation.
- Follow up on equipment issues, findings, and corrective actions.
- Analyze unexpected and repetitive failures and drive corrective actions.
- Order parts and materials required to complete maintenance work.
- Coordinate contractors for maintenance work and ensure purchase orders are completed as needed.
- Close SAP work orders and verify labor and parts are accurately charged.
- Schedule cross-training to build capability and coverage across the pipe team.
- Submit purchasing card (P-Card) reports and required documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized shop and storage areas (toolboxes, cabinets, tool cages, oil drum shed, etc.).
ABOUT YOU
- 5+ years of supervisory experience leading maintenance piping repairs and new piping installations in a food or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); SAP experience is a plus. Broad mechanical experience with systems such as boilers, turbines, heat exchangers, and centrifuges.
- Working knowledge of welding and pipefitting, including layout, schematic/print reading, machining, and fabrication; familiarity with safe shop tool and equipment use.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and compliance with applicable safety standards and programs (e.g., OSHA, lockout/tagout, hot work permits, confined space).
- Certified welder preferred; ability to perform and/or oversee welds and repairs in accordance with applicable codes/standards (e.g., AWS/ASME) and company specifications.
- Pipefitting certification preferred; ability to layout, fabricate, install, and repair piping systems per applicable piping codes/standards (e.g., ASME B31, as applicable) and company specifications.
- Leadership, team building, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience working with a unionized labor force.
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing and implementing preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including extensive walking; some sitting, climbing, and lifting; for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand and convey technical information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. On-call support after hours (24/7 by phone) and night-shift support as needed for plant emergencies.

Total Rewards
The annual pay range estimated for this position is $79,840.00 - $99,800.00 and is bonus eligible.
Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities. During the interview process there will be an opportunity to discuss how your background fits into the pay range.
