| Advertising Summary | Richland Community College is seeking applicants for the Full-Time Welding Faculty (Tenure-Track) Position. The tenure-track faculty member is responsible for planning, preparing, implementing, teaching, and evaluating classroom and laboratory instruction in all areas of welding.
Primary duties include in-person classroom and some online teaching; curriculum and course development; assessment of student learning; program promotion and student recruitment; and participation in college-wide initiatives. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work in teams, and the flexibility to teach day or evening hours at the College. Additionally, the candidate must be able to work effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural environment. Other responsibilities include participating in assigned college committees and taskforces.
Associates Degree, journeyman’s card in related field, or certified training in welding with at least 2,000 hours of working experience in welding. Or a minimum of five (5) years of welding experience that includes: - Setting up and operating SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, Oxy/Fuel and/or Plasma cutting equipment.
- Structural, fabrication, and pipe welding
- Knowledge of welding different metal types; steel, aluminum or stainless steel.
- Ability to read, understand and use Welding Procedure Specification sheets
