Job Description |
Provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of designated academic programs and disciplines of the College. Programs and disciplines include: Communications, Culinary Arts, Education, Humanities, Fine Arts, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
Responsibilities include curriculum and program administration and development, supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff, course scheduling, budgeting; equipment planning, implementation of College policies pertaining to students’ rights and responsibilities; and working collaboratively to facilitate student success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Act as primary communications officer for faculty and staff.
2. Provide leadership for curriculum development and delivery; for program planning, provide leadership for development, implementation, market evaluation, and revisions; work with faculty to develop and submit IAI courses for review.
3. Document the outcomes of the division’s academic/occupational programs, including the program student learning outcomes as part of the submission of Program Reviews to the ICCB.
4. Serve as a contact for handling student/faculty disputes and grade change requests.
5. Develop, recommend, and monitor budgets.
6. Schedule, evaluate, and coordinate activities of all personnel in the division, including the divisional hiring, tenure, and promotion processes.
7. Set division priorities and coordinate the development of division policies and procedures.
8. Establish and maintain relationships with the community, advisory committee members, and other community partners.
9. Enforce college policies, including compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications |
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master’s Degree in a discipline within the division and three years of related administrative and supervisory experience at the college level. Community college teaching, strong academic administrative experience in supervising professionals and programs preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to work effectively with teachers/faculty. Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation. Must be able to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Possess strong verbal, written, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Must be capable of adapting rapidly to a variety of situations. Ability to apply leadership and conflict resolution skills that promote cooperation and accountability.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during the normal calendar year. Summer hours may vary. Irregular hours for any activities associated with the Essential Functions.
TRAVEL
Travel to area high schools, local events, and job sites to build relationships with the community. Periodic in- or out-of-state travel to conferences to professional development and College service.
