Job Description |
The Food Service Manager-MCLETC reports to the Director, Culinary Arts Institute and provides support and leadership to MCLETC culinary operations. The manager is responsible for the day to day planning and execution of food service for the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center.
Oversee daily planning and execution of food service at MCLETC, utilizing staff and resources effectively. Properly plan and execute on and off-campus catering. Including setup, staffing, event execution, tear down, clean up, and all other aspects of the event.
Work closely with the Director, Culinary Arts Institute, in menu planning, budgeting, purchasing, revenue and expense tracking, staffing and cross utilization of resources.
Lead staff training efforts for all aspects of the food service operation.
Responsible for the safe transportation of food and supplies for catering events including delivery to the MCLETC.
Hire, train and supervise culinary staff at MCLETC.
Cover meal service as needed for staff out for vacation or sick days.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications | Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisor or management role with at least one year experience in a commercial food service setting. Valid driver’s license required. |
Preferred Qualifications | Richland Culinary Arts Institute graduate preferred. Certification from the American Culinary Federation preferred. |
Physical Demands |
Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
Work is routinely performed in a commercial kitchen environment including standing for an extended time. Also subject to walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to 30 pounds over a distance of 200 feet.
