Job Description | Assist the Controller and VP of Financial Services in accounting and reporting functions to ensure the accuracy of the College’s general ledger. Prepare and process account reconciliations and journal entries. Provide assistance in the preparation of the annual College’s audit, budget and other special financial reports or projects supported by the Business Office. This position will require a background and credit check. |
Required Qualifications | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Associates Degree in Accounting or related field and at least two to five years of experience in the accounting field. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Experience with Fund Accounting in an institution of higher education or non-profit is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to complete account reconciliations; experience with general accounting functions such as receivables, and payables. Extensive knowledge of Excel. Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills. Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and the ability to work with and maintain confidential information. |

Physical Demands | PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information. Operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, and calculator on a frequent basis. Provide timely response to externally and/or internally imposed conditions and deadlines. Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues. Must be able to work effectively under pressure due to deadlines, due dates, etc. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a 40 hour per week position with normal hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 with occasional irregular hours. Summer hours may vary. This position may be eligible for the alternative work arrangement program. TRAVEL This position will require in-district travel for other assigned activities and duties. Travel to conferences and meetings beyond the College district is likely. |
