Job Description | Provide administrative support for department programs: AD Nursing, Nurse Assistant, Human Simulation, Medical Assisting, and Practical Nursing. Performs a wide range of administrative support of a highly responsible and confidential nature to the department. Assist Dean of Nursing Education with a variety of tasks related to the Nursing Program. Compile application materials for selective admission programs within the department to be evaluated by the Dean. Keep abreast of clinical site health and safety mandates in the clinical affiliation agreements and assure compliance of all students attending clinicals, notifying respective faculty. Assist with accreditation processes as requested. Work is performed under a minimum of supervision and requires incumbents to exercise independent judgement and discretion. |
Required Qualifications | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS An Associate’s degree in office technology or a related field and five years of administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to work effectively with the Dean of Nursing Education; working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; good telephone skills; experience and ability to work with the public in stressful situations; must be able to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines; knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; ability to make decisions in accordance with college policy, rules, regulations, and departmental policies; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and with the public; knowledge of the operations within the health care industry. Must operate and troubleshoot electronic office equipment and maintain moderately complex filing systems and records. |

Physical Demands | EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There may be irregular hours periodically including evening hours for advisory meetings. Summer hours may vary. Could be eligible for flexible work arrangement after the 120-day probationary period. TRAVEL Travel for professional development and local travel two times a semester to pick up and deliver materials. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations. Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information. Provide timely response to externally imposed conditions and deadlines Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues. Work is routinely performed in office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting of objects up to 10 lbs. |
