Job Description
The CEJA Employer Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining solid relationships with employers, contractor associations, unions, and contractors to facilitate job placements for program graduates. This role involves coordinating with industry partners to create job opportunities, ensuring graduates transition smoothly from training to employment. The ideal candidate will have excellent networking skills, experience in job placement or workforce development, and a passion for helping graduates succeed. This is a grant-funded position and is subject to continued funding.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree in social work or closely related field from an accredited institution, and at least 2 years of work-related experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Office, and proficient with computer skills. Must maintain a current valid Illinois Driver’s license and reliable transportation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in using job placement and career development tools.


Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Workforce Development, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in job placement, workforce development, or a related field.
Proven track record of building and maintaining employer relationships.
Experience working with diverse populations and understanding their unique employment needs.
Physical Demands
Must be willing to work beyond an 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. work schedule to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. There may be irregular hours including weekend and/or evening hours. Summer hours may vary. This position is eligible for an alternate work schedule after the probationary period has been successfully completed.
TRAVEL
This position may require occasional travel to meet with employers and attend industry events.
Some local travel required.
Participation at state or local meetings and/or conferences may require overnight travel.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
Salary N-09, Minimum Starting $21.38/hr
