Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Supervise, schedule, and guide the activities of technical support staff responsible for the operational maintenance of all Richland campus technology. Responsible for technology project timelines and timeliness of handling support requests. Assist in the management of computer customer service functions, training, equipment procurement, asset tracking, and distant education systems. Including installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all college owned end user hardware and software.

Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s degree in information technology or related area with two years’ experience working with both Windows-based computer systems and audio-visual equipment in a professional environment, or an equal combination of education and experience. Experience troubleshooting and supporting Windows domain environments, network software licensing and deployment, physical network infrastructure, 802.11x wireless networking. Must be currently employed by Richland Community College.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel in both verbal and written form. Must be able to manage, organize, and prioritize multiple systems and requests in a timely manner. Should possess a good working knowledge of desktop computer hardware and software systems. Ability to work effectively in a self-managed environment with minimal direct supervision. Ability to understand an educational institution and community colleges technology needs.


Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of two years’ experience managing technical support help desk services and related systems.

Physical Demands
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.

Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.

Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.

Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.

Work is routinely performed in an office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, and stooping.

Work is occasionally performed in academic classrooms, laboratories, and data wiring closets. Subject to climbing steep stairs & ladders, and occasional lifting of objects up to 50lbs.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. There may be irregular hours periodically including weekend, holiday and/or evening hours for support. Summer hours may vary.

TRAVEL
Local travel to satellite locations is expected to assist with necessary setup and support of campus technology.



Salary N-10, Minimum Starting wage $23.76/hr
