Job Description | Under general supervision, the Student Accounts Specialist I carries out cashiering functions and performs intermediate level clerical accounting duties requiring some analysis and individual judgement in the application of routine calculations, verification, and posting procedures to recurring assignments. Responsible for tuition billing, posting payments and answering questions regarding tuition and student account concerns. Checks accuracy and completeness of student accounts. |
Required Qualifications | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school graduation or equivalent. Cashier/teller and customer service experience preferred. Credit check required as part of the background check process. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent verbal communication skills with experience and ability to work with the public in stressful situations; accuracy in data entry and attention to detail; strong written communication skills; strong computer skills with experience using Excel; ability to prioritize job responsibilities; ability to make decisions in accordance with college policy, rules, regulations, and departmental policies; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public; and the ability to work with and maintain confidential information. Intermediate level experience in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook. |

Physical Demands | PHYSICAL /MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations. Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information. Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues. Provide timely response to deadlines. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There may be irregular hours, including weekend and/or evening hours. Summer hours may vary. TRAVEL None required. |
