Job Description | This position’s primary responsibility is to assist in the design and creation of innovative and strategic marketing, communications and branding visuals for the college and its academic and non-academic units. The Creative Design Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of print and electronic materials and creating components for website and social media applications. Assist with coordinating photography and video footage (e.g. testimonials, commercials, etc.) that complements campaign themes, aligns with the college brand, and supports institutional priorities, departments and other staff. |
Required Qualifications | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Associate’s degree OR at least three years of experience in graphic design, media arts, marketing, communication, business, and related activities. Computer competency and excellent writing, planning, organization, and administration skills are required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong visual design, communication, and collaboration skills. Proficient with graphic design and animation. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photo Shop, etc.) Knowledge and ability to use a variety of social media to create, communicate and disseminate information. Knowledge of photography and videography concepts. Ability to act and think strategically. Demonstrable ability to translate complicated ideas into complete, easy-to-understand images and graphical presentations that are on-brand. |

Physical Demands | EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. There may be irregular hours periodically including weekend and/or evening hours for recruitment events, media events, and meetings. Summer hours may vary. This position may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. TRAVEL Travel to local events and local organizations/businesses may be necessary. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information. Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations. Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines. Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues. Work is routinely performed in office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting of objects up to 10 lbs. |
