Job Description | The Food Service Kitchen Lead is responsible for cooking, cleaning, dishes, meal service, restocking, and customer service for the food service operations. The Kitchen Lead will provide support and leadership to the MCLETC culinary operations. The Kitchen Lead is responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager with the day to day planning and operation of food service for the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center. The Food Service Kitchen Lead will provide direct leadership, on a fill-in basis, as needed, for MCLETC when the Food Service Manager is unavailable. |
Required Qualifications | Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or a related field. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a commercial food service setting. Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire. Valid driver’s license required. Must be a current Richland employee to apply. |
Preferred Qualifications | Richland Culinary Arts Institute graduate preferred. Certification from the American Culinary Federation preferred. |
Physical Demands | EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Minimum of 40 hours per week. Typical work hours are Monday through Thursday 9:30am-8:00pm. There may be irregular hours periodically when Food Service Manager or Kitchen Supervisor have time off. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information. Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations. Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines. Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues. Work is routinely performed in kitchen environment walking between buildings making multiple trips. Subject to standing for an extended period of time. Also subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs. over a distance of 200 feet. Uniform required. Partially provided by the college. Employee furnishes themselves with non-slip shoes adequate for kitchen environments, and black chef pants, scrubs, or slacks. |
Salary | Pay Band N-8: minimum$19.34/hr. |
