Job Description | The Kitchen Lead provides support and leadership to the culinary operations for the Cafe. The lead is responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager with the day to day planning and operation of food service for the Café and catering events. The kitchen lead provides direct leadership, on a fill-in basis, for the Café and catering operations when the Food Service Manager is unavailable. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Required Qualifications | Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or a related field. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a commercial food service setting. Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire. Valid driver’s license required. |
Preferred Qualifications | Richland Culinary Arts Institute graduate preferred. Certification from the American Culinary Federation preferred |
Physical Demands | Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information. Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations. Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines. Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues. Work is routinely performed in kitchen environment. Subject to standing for an extended period of time. Also subject to walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to 30 lbs over a distance of 200 feet. |
