Job Description | Richland Community College is seeking a qualified individual to become the Transition Coordinator for its Pre-Apprenticeship program through its Workforce Development Division. The coordinator would be expected to have the ability to relate with the diverse populations that they will be serving. The coordinator will assist pre-apprentices with the transition from the pre-apprenticeship training program to a Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program. The coordinator will also provide classroom instruction in a variety of areas with in their expertise and qualifications. This position will encompass a variety of duties, all of which help serve, develop and achieve success for the program and its participants. This is a grant-funded position. |
Required Qualifications | · Associates degree in a related field · 2 years experience working in the Trades industry · Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation · Minimum of 1-year administrative experience |
Preferred Qualifications | · Credentials and certifications in various construction fields and/or OSHA fields. · Possess a Journeyman Card through a nationally recognized labor union |
Physical Demands | EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a 40 hour per week position with normal hours of 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional weekend and irregular hours. Summer hours may vary. This position may be eligible for the flexible work arrangement schedule once the 120-day probationary period is successfully completed. Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment · Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. · Must be able to travel locally as needed for training, conferences and/or recruitment. TRAVEL Frequent travel to high schools, recruitment events, local events and/or meetings will be required. Participation at state or local meetings and/or conferences may require overnight travel. |
