| Job Description | POSITION SUMMARY The Director of CECI/MMPP is responsible for leading and coordinating the College’s entrepreneurship initiatives through the Minority Mentor Protégé Program, which develops and cultivates individuals interested in starting a business while also supporting existing businesses with resources and guidance. In addition, the Director oversees the development and maintenance of the Clean Energy Contractor Incubator, designed to help new clean energy businesses and startups overcome challenges through innovative programs that promote business development, learning, and cost savings. Entrepreneurs benefit from mentorship, training, and motivation provided by these initiatives. A strong understanding of business incubators and their role in supporting entrepreneurs enables the Director to maximize their impact and effectiveness. The Director of CECI/MMPP acts as a liaison between Richland Community College, area professionals, partner programs, mentors and mentees. The Director will collaborate with all parties involved and be comfortable interacting with diverse, underrepresented, and marginalized populations. The successful director is organized, self-motivated and manages multiple tasks effectively while simultaneously being attuned to the needs of those being served. | Required Qualifications | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in business administration, entrepreneurship, or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of entrepreneurship; Knowledge in clean energy is preferred. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES This position requires strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with experience managing in a for-profit business, start-up, or entity. This position also requires the ability to embrace and drive change; to demonstrate a clear and respectful understanding of the barriers faced by participants, and to communicate effectively— both orally and in writing. This position requires the Director of CECI/MMPP to collect data, and to maintain and manage confidential records and information. One must have the ability to analyze and solve problems independently and have had a successful experience in the entrepreneurial process in business. Required for this position are strong business ideation, business creation, entrepreneurial, organizational, and time-management skills. One must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; and is able to proofread and edit effectively. One should have the ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively, with the aptitude to research and analyze issues and develop solutions. The applicant must manage multiple projects simultaneously and can work accurately with great attention to detail. |

| Physical Demands | PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information. Must be able to work professionally and effectively in stressful situations. Work is routinely performed in an office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping, and occasional lifting of objects up to 10 lbs. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. There may be irregular hours periodically, including weekend and/or evening hours for recruitment events, media events, and meetings. Summer hours may vary. This position may be eligible for a remote work option. TRAVEL Travel to in-state and out-of-state events, organizations, and businesses may be necessary. |
