POSITION SUMMARY
The Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting participant recruitment, engagement, and enrollment for the Clean Energy Contractor Incubator (CECI) and Minority Mentor Protégé Program (MMPP) at Richland Community College. This position is responsible for generating and managing participant leads, conducting pre-screening and intake activities, supporting application completion, and coordinating outreach efforts with internal teams and external partners.

The Coordinator works closely with community organizations, workforce partners, contractors, employers, and program staff to ensure a consistent pipeline of eligible participants and to support program enrollment targets and grant deliverables. This role is essential to achieving participation, equity, and performance outcomes required under grant funding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Conduct outreach activities to recruit eligible participants for CECI and MMPP cohorts
  • Build and maintain referral relationships with community organizations, workforce partners, contractors, and employers
  • Represent the programs at community events, information sessions, and partner meetings
  • Support lead generation and follow-up to ensure enrollment targets are met
  • Conduct pre-screening and intake assessments to determine participant eligibility and program fit
  • Support participants with application completion and documentation requirements
  • Coordinate interviews or intake meetings in collaboration with program staff
  • Maintain regular communication with applicants throughout the enrollment process
  • Work closely with internal staff and external partners to align recruitment efforts
  • Coordinate with program leadership to support cohort planning and kickoff activities
  • Maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders supporting program goals
  • Support program operations in alignment with grant requirements and performance metrics
  • Assist with tracking recruitment and enrollment data in coordination with data and reporting staff
  • Ensure recruitment activities align with equity, access, and inclusion goals
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, recruitment, and enrollment activities
  • Assist with preparation of reports related to participation and recruitment outcomes
  • Support documentation needs for grant reporting and audits as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Services or a related field, plus two years of experience providing support services, or relatable experience. Must maintain a current valid Illinois Driver’s license and reliable transportation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The successful candidate must possess knowledge of outreach, recruitment, and enrollment practices within workforce development, education, or community-based programs. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, contractors, employers, community organizations, and internal stakeholders. The Outreach & Recruiting Coordinator must demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, the ability to manage multiple recruitment efforts simultaneously, and the capacity to maintain accurate records and follow-up documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams, is required. The role also requires the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, adapt to changing priorities, and engage diverse populations with professionalism, cultural awareness, and sensitivity in a grant-funded, outcome-driven environment.

· Work is routinely performed in office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting of objects up to 10 lbs.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Must be willing to work beyond an 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. work schedule to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. There may be irregular hours including weekend and/or evening hours. Summer hours may vary. This position is eligible for an alternate work schedule after the probationary period has been successfully completed.
TRAVEL
Some local travel required.
Participation at state or local meetings and/or conferences may require overnight travel.
Salary E-9 $44,481.72 - $55,602.15/year
