Job Description
The Career and Completion Coach is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Career Services and serves as the main point of contact for career-related programming and initiatives. The Coach manages the College’s career services platforms, including Handshake, provides workshops, and works individually with students regarding career exploration, job searching strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, and all aspects of the job search and career planning process. The Coach will employ proactive, data-informed strategies to support student retention and completion by engaging students at key transition points, identifying barriers to progress, and connecting students with appropriate resources and next steps.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or related field is required. Must demonstrate understanding of, and commitment to, the community college mission and student population.
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant experience and a master’s degree in student personnel, higher education administration, or closely related field is preferred.
Physical Demands
Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
Work is routinely performed in office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting of objects up to 10 lbs.
Salary E-10 ($49,427.96 - $61,784.95)
