Job Description
The Coordinator of the Minority Mentorship Protégé Program position has been created to assist in the coordination of the college’s mentoring initiatives with specific emphasis on the development and cultivation of minorities and their entrepreneurial ventures. The Minority Mentorship Protégé Program Coordinator acts as a liaison between Richland Community College, area professionals, partner programs, mentors and mentees. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with all parties involved and be comfortable interacting with diverse, underrepresented and marginalized populations. The successful Coordinator is organized, self-motivated and manages multiple tasks effectively while simultaneously being attuned to the needs of those being served. This position is grant-funded and is subject to continued funding.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
This position requires strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and project management skills and experience managing in a for-profit business start-up or entity.
It also requires the ability to embrace and drive change; to demonstrate a clear and respectful understanding of the barriers faced by participants, and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; collect data; maintain and manage confidential records and information. This position requires the ability to analyze and solve problems independently and have had a successful experience in the entrepreneurial process in business.
This position also requires strong business ideation, creation and entrepreneurial skills with strong organizational and time management. One must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and is able to proofread and edit effectively. One should have the ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively and have the ability to research and analyze issues and develop solutions. The Coordinator must manage multiple projects simultaneously and have the ability to work accurately with great attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of business-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
A master’s degree in a business-related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
  • Must be able to work professionally and effectively in stressful situations.
  • Work is routinely performed in office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting of objects up to 10 lbs.
Salary E-10 ($49,427.96 - $61,784.95)
