Job Description
The Director of Training, MCLETC, is responsible for assisting the Academy Commander and Deputy Commander in guiding the organization to fulfill its mission. The Director of Training is responsible for supervising and leading the recruits and cadets with daily activities that meet the requirements set forth by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s degree is required. Seven years’ experience in law enforcement and/or criminal justice agency with at least five years in a senior criminal justice administrative position required. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License. Must be a current Richland/MCLETC employee to be eligible.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The position requires leadership, experience, and a background in law enforcement and the criminal justice field
Demonstrated vision and leadership
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds, including faculty, criminal justice trainees, professionals, and administrators.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Access, along with the ability to become proficient in the basic use of Canvas Learning Management System.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and completion of an accredited law enforcement leader’s program is preferred.
Physical Demands
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a 40-hour per week position with normal hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some adjustment at times to accommodate the training schedule. Occasionally irregular work hours when necessary to meet deadlines. The position may require some evening, overnight and weekend work. This position is not eligible to participate in the alternative work arrangement program.

TRAVEL
Occasional in-district and out-of-district travel required.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT
Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
Provide timely response to externally imposed conditions and deadlines.
Participate in Physical Skill Assessments, which may require demonstrations of basic physical skills; i.e. sit-ups, sit-and-reach, bench press, etc.
Demonstrate and instruct recruits/cadets in proper military drills that are applicable to a paramilitary structured police academy.
Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
Work is routinely performed in office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting of objects up to 20 lbs.
Salary Pay Grade E-13: $69,673.76-$87,092.20
