Job Description
The Transition Services Coordinator supports participant retention, career navigation, and successful transitions into employment, apprenticeship, contractor pathways, or business growth opportunities for the Clean Energy Contractor Incubator (CECI) and Minority Mentor Protégé Program (MMPP). This role focuses on ensuring participants are supported during critical transition points, including completion of training, placement readiness, onboarding, and post-placement follow-up.
The Coordinator provides individualized career planning, transition support, barrier mitigation, and coordination with employers, mentors, and partners to improve completion, placement, and retention outcomes. This position is essential to achieving grant-required performance metrics and ensuring participants successfully move from program participation to sustainable career or business outcomes. This is a grant-funded position and is subject to continued funding.
Required Qualifications
Associates Degree in social work or closely related field from an accredited institution, and at least 1-3 years of work-related experience.
Must maintain a current valid Illinois Driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
The position requires expert computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Teams. The successful candidate must possess knowledge of career development, workforce transition services, and participant support practices within education or workforce development programs. This position requires strong coaching, advising, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support participants through critical transition points such as completion of training, The Transition Services Coordinator must demonstrate strong organizational, time- management, and follow-up skills, as well as the ability to identify and address barriers impacting participant success.
The role also requires the ability to maintain accurate documentation, collaborate effectively with employers and partners, exercise sound judgment, and provide participant-centered support in a grant-funded, outcome-driven environment.

Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.· Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
Work is routinely performed in an office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping and occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
Salary E-9 $44,481.72 - $55,602.15/year
