| Job Description | POSITION SUMMARY This position will work closely with the Executive Director of Human Resources and will have primary responsibility for several HR areas that include employee relations, disciplinary matters, benefit administration, performance management, FMLA and ADA requests and accommodations, managing job descriptions, and training and development for staff and faculty. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively navigate sensitive employee relations and workplace matters, as well as strong conflict resolution and mediation skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills are required, along with a high level of attention to detail. Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), is required. Computer skills are essential, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications and the ability to effectively utilize HR database and information systems. The incumbent must be able to work independently and collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other College stakeholders. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Serve as a key contributor to the Human Resources team, supporting a range of HR functions and initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support on employee-related matters, including workplace issues and performance concerns.
- Manage the performance appraisal platform and tracking of 120-day and annual performance evaluations
- Coordinate and administer employee benefits.
- Compile and submit data for annual reporting as requested.
- Provide training and development opportunities for employees.
- Prepare and present supervisor training.
- Support compliance with employment laws and internal procedures related to leave management, accessibility, and workplace accommodations.
- Assist the HR Generalist and HR Assistant with recruitment and onboarding.
- Approve and maintain job descriptions.
- Support and participate in employee engagement planning and events.
- Lead and execute HR-related projects through research, collaboration, and completion.
- Serve on College committees and taskforces as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Additional hours may be required. Some flexibility in hours is possible. This position may be eligible to participate in the alternative work arrangement program.
