As we look to the future, we will pioneer technology in electrification and support our customer’s plans for a full electrification solution that includes vehicle production, charging, route planning and infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities

T/CCI is looking to grow our Decatur, IL based Purchasing organization. In support of our growth and new market opportunities, the Company is seeking to hire a Commodity Buyer to support our electrical compressor products. In this role, the Commodity Buyer will work with internal stakeholders inside our Engineering Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the Company produces a high-quality product that meets the needs of our customers. Additionally, this role will work with our suppliers, and at times end users, to help them develop solutions that meet our manufacturing, design, and applications needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Commodity Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement operations, focusing on sourcing and purchasing essential commodities to meet our organization's needs. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods at competitive prices.

You will collaborate closely with various departments to understand their requirements and align procurement strategies to support business objectives. The role demands a keen understanding of market trends, supply chain dynamics, and cost management to optimize purchasing decisions and mitigate risks. Your ability to foster strong supplier partnerships and maintain meticulous procurement records will be critical in driving efficiency and maintaining high standards of quality and reliability across our supply chain operations.

Supply Base Management and Performance

· Establish and maintain assigned global supply base that operates in partnership with HYG to deliver the best quality products for the lowest acquisition cost

· Develop, maintain, and support both global and regional sourcing strategies

· Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.

Project Management

· Responsible for the management of and contribution to Purchasing and Engineering projects

· Assess new and existing suppliers, both global and domestic

· Ensure that the best suppliers are being selected in order to support TCCI’s objectives, through on-site audits and evaluations or products, operations, and systems

Cost Management

· Achieve net reduction in annualized material purchase cost

· Negotiate pricing and terms that meet TCCI’s annual inflation and financial objectives

· Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules. Implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor contract compliance.

· Ensure supplier selection and initial price establishment meets and or exceeds both schedule and cost objectives, per project schedule

· Develop new VIP proposals with suppliers resulting in lower cost and or improved quality

Key Qualifications

· 5 or more years of Industry Experience, with a minimum of 1 year[EV1] direct experience in procurement or related supply chain function

· Knowledge of International and Domestic purchasing practices and procedures

· Advanced negotiation and problem resolution skills

· Ability to manage the business relationships between TCCI and suppliers while implementing corrective actions when expectations are not being met

· Ability to strategically evaluate the engineering, manufacturing, and quality systems for each supplier

· Supplier development based on APQP and PPAP processes.[EV2]

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with multiple business management systems (DFT, JIT, MRPII, TQM)

· Excellent written and oral communication

· Experience with technical systems, applications and industry standards of purchased commodities

Education

Bachelors Degree in Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or Logistics preferred
