Role Responsibilities
T/CCI is looking to grow our Decatur, IL based Engineering organization. In support of our growth and new market opportunities, the Company is seeking to hire applications engineer to support our mechanical and electrical compressor products. In this role, the Applications Engineer will work with internal stakeholders inside our Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the Company produces a high-quality product that meets the needs of our customers. Additionally, this role will work with customers, end users, and at times, our suppliers, to help them develop solutions that meet their manufacturing, design, and applications needs.
Key Responsibilities
· This role serves as the engineering primary point of contact for external customers
· Gathers and disseminates customer requirements and specifications within the T/CCI Global Engineering organization; partner with Design Engineers to create product that meets & exceeds the needs of our customers
· Acts as the voice of the customer within the company, ensuring the customer’s applications needs are met through our product design & performance
· Assist customers with system integration of compressor
· Collaborate with sales and engineering core team to respond to RFIs and RFQs
· Responsible for organizing customer samples and customer-specific validation
· Provides documentation for customers in a timely fashion to meet their needs
· Follow APQP processes including DFMEA and DVP&R to ensure adherence to the Company’s ISO and IATF certifications
· Conduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues experienced internally and/or externally
Key Qualifications
· 5+ years experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle development process
· 5+ years experience supporting external customers
· Knowledge and familiarity with APQP, DFMEA, DVP
· CAD software and drawing experience
· Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
· Knowledge of electric or hybrid electric vehicle drive systems and applications
· Experience with HVAC or refrigerant systems
· Experience with compressors or expanders
Education
Bachelors of Science in Electrical (BSEE), Bachelors of Science in Mechanical (BSME), or equivalent is required.
