Role Responsibilities
This position is responsible for optimizing the balance of inventory across our local and global manufacturing network with a primary focus on customer service levels, forecasting accuracy and planned inventory/financial goals. Additionally, this role will provide leadership and oversight to the Global Logistics function. This strategic leader partners with Global Purchasing, Production, Operations Planning, and Finance teams to ensure the Company is well positioned to exceed the goals of our customers through the accurate and strategic management of raw materials and finished goods to support our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads all inventory planning activities including annual plans, allocation and productivity of inventory investments while supporting sales, margin and turn objectives.
- Plant communication and problem resolution with major focus on addressing critical parts for production, late shipments, and delivery concerns.
- Create and execute routine cycle count plans across local and global locations; strive for high level of cycle count accuracy; utilize investigative tools and continuous improvement approaches to diagnosis and fix issues
- Lead and guide the development of inventory plans that support company sales, inventory turns, and margin objectives; Lead analytics and supporting forecasting process utilizing current trend and historical data.
- Leads and develops inventory strategies to effectively support global & local strategies
- Provide global leadership & oversight to team of inventory planning personnel responsible for multiple geographic regions; organize team to maximize resources and minimize inefficient ordering of product
- Monitor order patterns and ability of regions to achieve sales goals with incoming inventory
- Lead analysis of historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities; partner with Sales, Production Planning, and Finance to align financial and product opportunities.
- Oversees the evaluation of results of program execution, status of plan execution, and feedback assessment internal & external stakeholders to trouble-shoot for problems impacting ability to meet the designated delivery dates.
- Plan and proactively set inventory levels based on forecast inputs, ordering parameters (LT, supply chain disruptions) and seasonality using ERP and MRP software systems
- Manage and collaborate with internal Purchasing resources to ensure an uninterrupted inventory flow through regular forecast discussions
- Communicate clearly and proactively across all levels of the Company to guarantee visibility to inventory strategy and known problems in the supply chain
Key Qualifications
- Ideally 5+ years of inventory experience, preferably all or some of this in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with reconciling or maintaining inventory and costs in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of inventory, materials, and/or demand planning principles, practices, and procedures.
- Support Company initiatives through development and/ or delivery of regular and ad hoc analyses and reports related to overall inventory performance
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Global Logistics function to ensure optimized freight deliveries, cost, and performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of managing inventory for multiple regions or countries.
- Experience in managing international supply chains and understanding regional compliance, trade regulations, and market differences.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with international partners and stakeholders
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering; Master’s degree highly regarded but not required.
