Electrical Engineering Intern

As we look to the future, we will pioneer technology in electrification and support our customers’ plans for a full electrification solution that includes vehicle production, charging, route planning and infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities

T/CCI is looking to grow our Decatur, IL based organization. In support of our growth and new market opportunities, the Company is seeking to hire a Computer Engineering Intern to support and learn within our Electric Compressor, Mechanical Compressor, and H/VAC Systems Engineering teams. In this role, the Computer Engineering Intern will work with internal stakeholders inside our Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the Company produces a high-quality product that meets the needs of our customers. Additionally, this role will work with customers, end users, and at times, our suppliers, to help them develop solutions that meet their manufacturing, design, and applications needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Circuit Design and Analysis: Assisting in the design and analysis of electrical circuits. This could involve using simulation software to model circuit behavior or helping to design schematics.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Conducting tests on electrical components or systems to ensure they function correctly. This might include setting up and operating test equipment, analyzing test results, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Prototyping: Helping to build and test prototypes of electrical devices or systems. This could involve assembling components, soldering, and integrating various parts into functional prototypes.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gathering and analyzing data from experiments or operational tests. You might use tools and software to process data, create reports, or develop graphs and charts.
  • Documentation: Assisting with the documentation of designs, test procedures, and results. Keeping accurate records is important for tracking progress and communicating findings with the team.
  • Design Support: Supporting senior engineers in developing designs for electrical systems or components. This may include drafting design documents, preparing specifications, and contributing to design reviews.
  • Software Use: Utilizing engineering software tools for tasks such as circuit simulation (e.g., SPICE), schematic capture, or PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle).
  • Research: Conducting research on new technologies, materials, or methods relevant to electrical engineering. This could involve literature reviews, market research, or technical evaluations.

Key Qualifications

· Currently pursuing a Bachelors of Engineering from a accredited four year university

· Strong documentation and communication skills

· Demonstrable leadership skills exhibited through school clubs, volunteer experiences, and general attitude

· Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

· Former work experience or collegiate project experience working with publicly traded or privately held companies

· Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills

Pursuing a Bachelors of Engineering from an accredited four year university
