Role Responsibilities
T/CCI is looking to grow our Decatur, IL based organization. In support of our growth and new market opportunities, the Company is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support and learn within our Electric Compressor, Mechanical Compressor, and H/VAC Systems Engineering teams. In this role, the Mechanical Engineering Intern will work with internal stakeholders inside our Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the Company produces a high-quality product that meets the needs of our customers. Additionally, this role will work with customers, end users, and at times, our suppliers, to help them develop solutions that meet their manufacturing, design, and applications needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Assistance: Supporting engineers in designing mechanical systems or components. This could involve using CAD software to create or modify design drawings and models.
- Prototyping: Assisting in the creation and testing of prototypes. This might include building physical models, setting up experiments, or using tools and machines.
- Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data from experiments or tests. This could involve using software to process data, create graphs, or perform simulations.
- Documentation: Helping to document design processes, test results, and project progress. Good documentation is crucial for tracking changes and communicating with the team.
- Research: Conducting research on materials, methods, or technologies relevant to the projects you’re working on. This could involve literature reviews or market research.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Assisting in testing mechanical systems or components to ensure they meet required specifications and standards. This might include setting up test rigs, performing measurements, and analyzing results.
Key Qualifications
· Currently pursuing a Bachelors of Engineering from a accredited four year university
· Strong documentation and communication skills
· Demonstrable leadership skills exhibited through school clubs, volunteer experiences, and general attitude
· Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
· Former work experience or collegiate project experience working with publicly traded or privately held companies
· Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
Education
Pursuing a Bachelors of Engineering from an accredited four year university
