Role Responsibilities

TCCI is looking to grow our Global Engineering organization. In support of our growth and new market opportunities, we are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our dynamic Decatur based Engineering Lab team. As a Controls Engineer, you will combine responsibilities in engineering and data analysis to support the development, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation and data acquisition systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in LabVIEW, PLC, and data acquisition systems, as well as a strong background in calibration, procedure documentation, and report generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; report any safety concerns promptly
  • Document calibration status of equipment used during tests in test reports.
  • Write and update calibration work instructions and templates.
  • Define calibration equipment needs, and maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and data acquisition equipment.
  • Develop and enhance instrumentation and data acquisition equipment and methods.
  • Assess and determine software needs, including LabVIEW, PLC, and other DAQ systems.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and upgrades to test equipment.
  • Generate work instructions for DAQ and calibration equipment.
  • Handle test stand programming tasks, including LabVIEW, PLC, and other DAQ systems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience with LabVIEW, PLC programming, and data acquisition systems.
  • Strong background in calibration processes, equipment maintenance, and repair.
  • Experience in developing and documenting procedures and work instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with H/VAC
  • Experience with Refrigeration Systems
  • Knowledge of the APQP process

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. An associate degree or equivalent technical degree combined with R&D work experience may be considered.
